The Annual Meeting cum Dinner of the Advisory Committee (2022-23) of Department of Social Work was successfully held on April 21, 2023. A total of 44 people, including 12 advisors from different public agencies and non-governmental organizations,18 teaching staff, 10 student representatives from all programs, and 4 administrative staff participated in the event.
Prof. Steven Ngai, our Department’s Acting Chairperson, shared on updates and future development of the Department and its research and education endeavors under the “new normal”. Prof. Phyllis Wong, Chairperson of Undergraduate Programme and Curriculum Committee, and Prof. Chen Ji-kang, Head of Graduate Division, shared our new initiatives under the “new normal”. Our advisors and teaching staff had fruitful discussions on possibilities for collaboration in nurturing competent social work students while facilitating replenishment and development of NGO talent pool, as well as possibilities for co-creating inter-professional and interdisciplinary learning, data and technology application, and/or university-NGO collaborative research.
