Our students participated in Taiwan Death Education Study Tour organised by our Department from 26 to 30 May 2025. Led by our teachers, Ms. LEE Wang, Carina and Dr. SO Yuk-yan, our student visited several institutions in Taipei that offer end-of-life care and death education, including Taipei City Hospital, MacKay Memorial Hospital, Taipei City Mortuary Service Office, and Shih Chien University, etc.
During the visit, students and teachers engaged with professionals, practitioners and peers from local hospitals, funeral homes and educational institutions to explore Taiwan's cultural perspectives on death, as well as developments in end-of-life services and death education. This experience left a profound impression on students, enriching their knowledge in end-of-life services, death education, and the funeral industry. It also fostered their in-depth personal reflections and growth in their attitudes toward the social work profession.
