Our Department is honored to have invited Prof. Lee Jungup, Associate Professor and at Department of Social Work and Co-Director of Social Service Resarch Centre at National University of Singapore to visit CUHK from 9-13 March 2026.

During Prof. Lee's visit, she actively engaged with our faculty members and students, providing valuable insights on the intersection of digital technology and youth mental health. On 10 March 2026, Prof. Lee gave a seminar titled "Navigating Technology-Related Harms and Youth Mental Health", addressed the rising "cyber-pandemic" affecting youth mental health. Drawing from her research, Prof. Lee highlighted how digital harms, such as cyberbullying, smartphone addiction, and technology-faciliated violence, are linked to serious outcome linke depression and eating disorders, emphasizing the need to translate evidence into practice by intergrating digital literacy, routine screening for online risk, and AI-driven interventions into social service education and youth support systems.

More than 40 faculty members, students, and social work practicioners attended the seminar and participated the meaningful discussion and consultation.

We sincerely thank Professor Lee for taking time to visit our Department.
