Mental health policies comprise formal legal and strategic frameworks that establish objectives for promoting mental well-being, preventing mental disorders, facilitating treatment and recovery, and supporting the rehabilitation of individuals with mental health and behavioral health conditions to achieve optimal psychological and social functioning. In countries where such policies have been implemented, they generally encompass key domains of mental health care, including treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, promotion, and advocacy. This seminar will employ interactive pedagogical approaches to examine various dimensions of behavioral health, mental health and treatment service delivery, with the aim of enhancing participants’ understanding of the diverse needs of individuals requiring mental health support and services. An international perspective of policy and leadership development will also be examined.
