Our students participated in the Sichuan Study Tour co-organised by our Department and the Department of Sociology and Psychology of Sichuan University from 24-31 December 2023. Teachers and students from Hong Kong and Sichuan visited different types of social welfare institutions, including the Chengdu Jinjiang District Social Organization Development Foundation, a community cultural development center, a social work development center, etc. Students and teachers discussed the challenges and prospects in the field of social welfare and shared their experiences and perspectives. The students gained an in-depth understanding of the operation and development of social institutions in Sichuan. They also visited famous local attractions such as Sanxingdui Museum, Giant Panda Breeding Base, Kuanzhai Alley, Jinli Street and Wuhou Memorial Temple.
This exchange left a deep impression on the teachers and students. It also enriched their knowledge and skills, broadened their horizons and communication experience, and provided them with a valuable learning experience.
