CHENG Yuhang
I am currently pursing my PhD degree at the Department of Social Work. During my first year in the department, I have found it to be a good place rich in academic resources and characterized by close supervisor-student relationships. These factors could be extremely instrumental for me in fostering my academic pursuits and encouraging my ongoing self-realization.
Before joining CUHK, I obtained my Master Degree in Social Work from Mainland China. My current research mainly lies in the area of family dynamics and child development, and I am particularly interested in exploring the complex interplay between child and their family environments. With a steadfast commitment to child and family welfare, I aspire for my research to not only contribute to existing academic knowledge but also offer significant practical implications for future social work interventions.
I firmly believe that the Department of Social Work at CUHK is the ideal setting for my academic progression. Through engaging in high-level courses and professional academic activities such as research seminars organized by our department, I have cultivated a multidisciplinary perspective and acquired cutting-edge knowledge to enhance my research capabilities. Additionally, the regular and in-depth discussions with my supervisor have offered me invaluable insights into conducting well-structured research, while also inspiring me to become a dedicated social work researcher, with a passion in realizing social justice and enhancing the well-being of the entire population.
