The Annual Postgraduate Research Symposium 2024
The Annual Postgraduate Research Symposium (APRS) 2024 was successfully held on 5 – 6 December 2024 at CUHK. It was organised by the Graduate Division, Department of Social Work, CUHK and the CUHK-Nankai Joint Research Centre of Social Policy.
The theme of the two-day symposium was “Challenges and Opportunities for Social Work and Social Welfare in a Changing World”. This symposium served as an academic forum for postgraduate research students from around the globe to share their research projects, and explore and exchange view on new academic issues of common interest.
We were honored to have Prof. Xinping GUAN and Prof. Fan WU from Nankai University along with Prof. Steven NGAI and Prof. Siu-ming TO from our Department as the keynote speakers, as well as Prof. Bong-joo LEE from Seoul National University as an honored guest.
More than 30 students from 18 institutions in Mainland China, India, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, USA, Vietnam and Hong Kong presented their research projects on social work, social security, social policy, social welfare and related fields in the forums. A total of four presenters were awarded the Best Paper Award.
