Funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and organized by the Department of Social Work, CUHK, the CLAP@JC Community of Practice Session on “Co-creating High-quality Career and Life Development Services: NGO Impact Stories and Practice Wisdom of CLAP@JC Hong Kong Benchmarks (Community)” was held successfully on 9 December 2022 via Zoom. Over 110 participants from mainland China and Hong Kong attended the event.
It was an honor to have Prof. Steven Sek-yum Ngai, Director (Community, PI), CLAP@JC and Professor, Department of Social Work, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Ms. Cressida Leung, Deputy Chief Executive (Social Rehabilitation & Community Education), The Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong, and Mr. Ka Ming Wong, Social Work Supervisor, Caritas District Youth Outreaching Social Work Team – Southern District, as our guest speakers. The speakers shared the positive prospects, challenges and opportunities in adopting and implementing HKBM (Community) in their organisations and how it helps to provide a comprehensive framework for them to review existing CLD services and develop action plans. They also provided some impact stories to illustrate the best practices in delivering high-quality CLD services and programmes for youth.
We are also delighted to have commentators Ms. Margaret Mar, Social Work Supervisor, Hong Kong Children and Youth Services, and Mr. Chin Hei Lee, School Coordinator, Hong Kong Christian Service, gave insightful reflections on the topic.
