Our students participated in the Taiwan Study Tour from 13 to 20 May 2024. The Study Tour was co-organised by our Department, the Department of Social Work from Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) and LIVIN Xperience. Our teacher and students visited CJCU in Tainan, as well as various social welfare institutions, including the Jiahe Daycare Center, Gangshan District Welfare and Service Center for the Disabled, Sanmin District Service Center for the Homeless, and Alian Community Development Association, etc.
During the visit, students and teachers discussed the structure and practices in the field of social welfare, and shared their experiences and perspectives. The students gained an in-depth understanding of the management and development of social institutions in Taiwan.
Furthermore, our teacher and students visited the community in Taitung, experienced the livelihood of the local tribes and participated in different social innovation projects.
This exchange had a profound impact on our teacher and students. The valuable cultural learning experience not only enriched their knowledge and life skills, but also broadened their horizons.
