International Conference on "Social Welfare Policies in Chinese Societies" was held in The Chinese University of Hong Kong on 4-5 September, 2012. This Conference was organised by the CUHK-Nankai Joint Research Center for Social Policy and Social Policy Research Centre of National Taiwan University, in association with Chung Chi College, Department of Social Work, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Department of Social Work and Social Policy, Nankai University and Department of Social Work, National Taiwan University, and financially supported by the Faculty of Social Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

 

The Conference aimed to provide scholars from Chinese societies all over the world with a platform to exchange research ideas and findings on social welfare policies in Chinese societies. Nearly sixty scholars from Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong and other Chinese societies presented their latest research results in areas such as child, youth and family policy, poverty, social security, employment, social care, migrants, elderly and disability. The conference attracted over two hundred local and overseas participants from different organisations, teachers and students from different universities.
